The archaeological excavations and the first restoration

19th-20th century

The first archaeological excavations of the Abbey Church began in 1817, but the building’s real value was only recognized in 1900, when it was declared a historic monument. The first restauration was initiated in 1920 by Louis Bosset and later taken over by Pierre Margot. In 1963, the Abbey Church was consecrated as a Protestant Church.
