Access for disabled visitors
Visitors with reduced mobility
Due to its different levels and staircases, the Abbey Church is only partially accessible to wheelchair users and, albeit to a lesser extent, to people with reduced mobility. We have taken measures to improve access, such as the installation of moving platforms allowing wheelchairs to enter the nave. However, due to the building’s status as a historic monument, such measures could not be installed everywhere.
We strongly recommend informing us about your visit ahead of time, so that we can welcome you in the best possible conditions.
The audio-guide stations accessible to wheelchair users are the following: 1 to 4, 6 to 12, 14, 16, 19 and 20. Points 3 to 4 and 6 to 12 are accessible via the platform in the south of the Abbey Church, located in the former cloister courtyard. To access points 2 and 16 to 20, visitors need to pass in front of the reception and circle the north of the Abbey Church, as there are stairs in the south-east.
To reduce the distances between stations, we recommend visiting them in the following order: 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 2, 16, 19, 20. Station 13 can be accessed with the assistance of a staff member. If you want to do so, you need to announce your visit in advance, so that we can make the necessary arrangements. The same applies to stations 17 and 18 in the parish church.
