The discovery tour offers new insights into the history of the biggest roman church of Switzerland and into the lives of the people connected to it.

History and patrimony

Shortly before the year 1000, an active religious life developed in Payerne, supported by the royal family of Upper Burgundy.


End-of-year programme 2023

The Abbatiale de Payerne closes its 2023 season on a high note with the O’Chap show “Le collier perdu de l’impératrice” (The Empress’s Lost Necklace), and the return of the lantern walks.

Individual visitors discover the Abbey Church in an hour and a half thanks to our immersive and interactive audio-guided tour.


We offer different exciting and entertaining activities for groups, like guided tours or tastings.
