A 40-hour musical experience, night and day, in the Abbey Church, with a host of highlights

From the Passion concert to the Easter dawn celebration, 40 hours of music under the Romanesque vaults. After the recital of the Passion of Christ, words fall silent, time gradually stands still, and only sounds fill the space night and day, before jubilation returns: an experience to be enjoyed with all the senses.

Highlights of the tour:

Friday 7 April :
15:00 Arvo Pärt, Passio Domini nostri Jesu Christi secundum Joannem (1982)
Ensemble vocal Post Tenebras Lux, Capella Paterniacensis, conducted by Céline Grandjean
From 4.30pm Counterpoint for organ and instruments throughout the Abbey Church, created for the event, continuous until Sunday morning
From midnight Percussion ensemble with the marimbists of the Tchiki Duo, Jacques Hostettler and Nicolas Suter

Saturday 8 April :
10.00 Percussion ensemble
From 2 pm Interactive afternoon: the public contributes to the creation of sound
9.00 pm Sergei Rachmaninov, Vespers and Matins (Vigiles nocturnes) op. 37
Chamber Choir of the University of Fribourg, Pro Arte Lausanne, conductor Pascal Mayer

Sunday 9 April :
From 3.00 am Plainchant and organ
6.00 am Easter dawn service

General pass: CHF 50 (free entry and exit day and night)

Admission with VIP numbered seat: CHF 50 / concert
with conference 45 minutes before the concert for either of the concerts with choir (Pärt and Rachmaninov)
Unnumbered tickets: CHF 30 per concert
for either concert with choir, children under 16 free of charge
Admission to the Abbey Church outside choir concerts: 20.00 / day
