Adrien Pièce, an early music specialist, improviser and keyboardist from the canton of Vaud, who trained in Lausanne and at the Schola Cantorum in Basel, will be performing at the September concert in the Abbey Church. His programme, entitled “Frescobaldi and the Neapolitans”, is perfectly suited to the instrument’s aesthetic and most precious characteristics: great polyphony, inventive treatment of thematic material, chromaticism that highlights the organ’s mesotonic tuning – nothing should be missing to make the instrument in Payerne’s Abbey church sound its best.
