Access for disabled people

Visitors with limited mobility

The Abbey Church is only partially accessible to wheelchair users, and to a lesser extent to other visitors with limited mobility, because of its numerous different levels and stairs. Some adaptations have been made, such as lifts granting wheelchair users access to the nave. Because of its status as a historic monument, the Abbey Church is not fully accessible.

We strongly recommended that you notify us of your visit in advance so that we can prepare to meet your needs as fully as possible.

The following points along the audio tour are accessible to wheelchair users: 1 to 4, 6 to 12, 14, 16, 19 and 20. Access for points 3, 4 and 6-12 is via a lift to the south of the Abbey Church in the old cloister courtyard. To access points 2 and 16-20, head towards the entrance and proceed around the Abbey Church to the north, because of stairs at the south-east.

In order to limit the distance you will have to cover, we recommend you visit the points of interest in the following order: 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 2, 16, 19, 20. You can access point 13 with assistance from a staff member. Please notify us of your visit in advance if you wish to do this so that we can make the necessary preparations. The same applies to points 17 and 18 at the Parish Church.

Hearing-impaired Visitors

As our tour is audio-guided, we provide a written tour for hearing-impaired visitors in French, German and English.
