This exhibition from the series “A Glimpse into the Collections” invites visitors to discover rarely shown works and to step behind the scenes of the Abbey Church of Payerne. It features about twenty paintings by Victor de Mestral Combremont, a painter from the Broye region, whose work is inspired by Swiss and French landscapes. Water, nature, architecture, and a few portraits form a sensitive ensemble. One room is dedicated to conservation and restoration, revealing the gestures and choices that preserve the artworks without erasing their history.
